This large Japanese Imari square plate dates from 1900 and exhibits the classic Japanese Imari style. Formed from porcelain finished with a glossy glaze, the piece employs a palette of cobalt blue, iron red, orange and white. The surface features hand-painted panels decorated with flowers, leaves and scrolls, centred upon a floral vase arrangement enclosed by a square indented rim and patterned brocade borders.
