Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Day-to-night earrings created during the Victorian era feature convertible or articulated components, allowing the wearer to detach or modify the lower drop to switch between subtle daytime attire and elaborate evening wear.

Victorian jewellers frequently used various gold purities, including 9ct, 12ct, 15ct, and 18ct alloys, often incorporating hand-faceted geometric elements, rose gold tones, and hollow-constructed metalwork to reduce weight.

Authentic Victorian pieces typically display period-accurate ear wire construction, Victorian hallmarks or makers marks, evidence of hand-cut faceting, and natural patina consistent with late 19th-century metalwork.

Victorian drop earrings can be paired with modern evening tailoring or layered with contemporary gold studs to provide a focal contrast against modern, minimal attire.

Maintain antique gold jewellery by wiping gently with a soft microfibre cloth and lukewarm water with mild soap, avoiding chemical dips, ultrasonic cleaners, and abrasive compounds that could damage delicate antique joints.
