Edwardian silver is characterised by lighter, more delicate neoclassical revivals, often featuring pierced work, swags, and garlands inspired by earlier periods such as the Louis XVI style.

Antique silver should be cleaned sparingly using a soft cloth and non-abrasive silver polish specifically formulated for precious metals, avoiding harsh chemical dips that can damage patination.

Antique silver adds metallic contrast and historical depth to contemporary spaces, and works well when displayed on sideboards, open shelving, or coffee tables alongside minimalist decor.

Authenticity is verified through clear hallmarks stamped directly into the metal, including the makers mark, lion passant for sterling silver, city assay mark, and a specific date letter.

These pieces were crafted from sterling silver, typically marked with standard hallmarks indicating purity, assay office, and date letter, often complemented by blown cobalt blue glass liners.
