An exceptional antique Victorian carved mahogany floor lamp, made in England and dating from around the 1890-1900 period.It is of incredibly fine quality, with crisp and intricate carving throughout. It stands on a generous and sturdy platform base that has cabriole legs, with acanthus leaf carving at the knees, terminating in claw and ball feet. The central section is also beautifully carved and even has hand carved solid wood tassels that hang off it. This comes with a very impressive silk shade that looks original, it compliments the base beautifully.We have had the wood re-polished, the lamp has been re-wired and is in good working order.
