Coalport was one of the leading English porcelain manufactories during the nineteenth century, renowned for producing bone china decorated with intricate hand-painted floral motifs, rich gilding, and ornate Rococo Revival shapes favoured during the Victorian era.

Victorian Coalport plates were crafted from translucent bone china, glazed, and decorated with hand-painted enamel botanical sprays alongside burnished gold leaf gilding around the scalloped rims and cartouches.
