Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A silver brandy pan, also known as a brandy warmer, is a small hollowware vessel with a turned wooden handle designed to gently heat brandy or fortified spirits over a flame prior to serving. Popular during the early 18th century, these pieces were crafted to prevent heat transfer via the insulated handle.

Early 18th-century brandy pans were typically raised by hand from a single sheet of high-purity silver, featuring a flared rim, a solid flat or rounded base, and a turned wooden socket handle joined via a tapered silver sleeve.

Authentic George I provincial silver pieces display distinct regional maker marks and town marks alongside standard assay hallmarks, often showing signs of hand-hammering, irregular gauge thickness, and period-appropriate wear around joins and rims.

In modern settings, an antique silver brandy pan serves as a decorative accent on a drinks trolley, sideboard, or bar cabinet alongside period glassware and modern decanters.

Clean the silver gently using a soft cloth and specialist non-abrasive silver polish, taking care to avoid getting moisture on or near the wooden handle, which should be kept dry and conditioned occasionally with natural beeswax.
