Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Campaign furniture was designed to be easily dismantled and transported by military officers during campaigns in the 18th, 19th, and early 20th centuries, featuring sturdy construction and protective metal hardware.

These chests were typically constructed from durable native hardwoods such as teak, sheesham, or mango wood, and reinforced with brass or iron corners, straps, and flush-fitting handles.

Authentic pieces exhibit hand-cut dovetail joints, period-appropriate iron or brass fixings, traditional hand-finished wood surfaces, and signs of genuine age and wear consistent with travel and utilitarian use.

An antique chest can be used as a functional coffee table in a living room, a statement storage piece at the foot of a bed, or a focal point in a hallway to add texture and historical depth.

Maintain the wood by keeping it away from direct sunlight and heat sources, dusting regularly with a soft cloth, and occasionally applying microcrystalline wax to nourish and protect the finish.
