FAQs

Victorian piano stools evolved during the 19th century alongside the popularity of the home piano, featuring adjustable swivel mechanisms to accommodate different players.

These pieces were typically constructed from dense hardwoods like walnut, mahogany, or oak, often paired with upholstered seats featuring velvet, tapestry, or leather coverings.

Authentic items display period-correct joinery, heavy hardwood construction, hand-carved details, and mechanical threaded iron screws beneath the seat for height adjustment.

It can function effectively as an occasional seat in a living room, a vanity stool in a bedroom, or an accent piece next to a bookcase.

Maintain the wood with high-quality beeswax to nourish the finish, keep upholstery clean with gentle brushing, and avoid placing the item in direct sunlight or near heat sources.
