Antique Art Deco 7.12ct High Zircon and 10.85ct Diamonds Platinum Brooch Circa 1930

1920 - 1940
For Sale by AC Silver
Description

A stunning, fine and impressive, large antique Art Deco 7.12 carat high zircon, 10.85 carat diamond and platinum brooch; part of our Art Deco brooches collection.

This stunning antique Art Deco brooch has been crafted in platinum.

This impressive pierced decorated oval-shaped Art Deco brooch displays an impressive claw set round faceted cut high zircon*.

The feature zircon is encompassed with twenty-two pavé set diamonds, in a combination of Old European and eight cuts.

The concave outer border of the brooch is embellished with forty-four further pavé set diamonds, accented with Art Deco collar designs to the cardinal points.

The pierced decorated collar designs are embellished with ninety-six diamonds, in a combination of Old European, eight and baguette cuts.

This fine example of antique jewellery secures to the reverse with a hinged pin and sheath style clasp.

This stunning blue zircon brooch has been independently tested using state of the art technology (Niton XL2 Analyzer) and verified as platinum.

This impressive Art Deco zircon brooch is supplied with an IDGL diamond and gemstone grading report card.

Such large, stunning and unusual combination zircon and multi-diamond period brooches are becoming increasingly difficult to locate; large platinum examples are indications of high quality.

This Art Deco high zircon brooch with diamonds is a striking and highly collectible piece, defined by geometric design and the vivid brilliance of the zircon. Its distinctive design will appeal to jewellery lovers as well as discerning collectors who appreciate true period craftsmanship. This brooch makes a memorable gift for milestone birthdays, anniversaries or retirements, offering a colourful and timeless way to celebrate life's significant moments.

NOTE: * A high zircon is a natural zircon which has not suffered damage from self-radiation during the process of the stone’s creation; their gemmological properties are higher for density, hardness and refractive index. The zircon has high lustre and dispersion, in addition to the appearance of extra facets facilitated by double-refraction; each of these factors provide fine brilliance and flashes of fire.

Images do not always reflect the true colour and brilliance of gemstones and diamonds. The video however provides a truer representation of the actual colour and showcases each stone.

Condition

This original antique Art Deco brooch is exceptional quality, set with a stunning high zircon displaying fine colour, brilliance and presence.

The impressive very high colour graded diamonds display a fine white colour and brilliance; although clarity graded at P1, the high colour multi-diamond brooch shows stunning white brilliance.

The diamond brooch is an exceptional gauge of platinum and is in exceptional condition.

Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this fine Art Deco high zircon brooch.

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Art Deco jewellery from the 1930s features geometric symmetry, linear arrangements, bold central gemstones, and intricate platinum openwork.

Art Deco brooches typically feature platinum mounts, diamonds in various cuts such as baguette and round brilliant, and vibrant coloured gemstones like blue zircon.

Authentic Art Deco pieces exhibit precise hand-engraving, millegrain detailing, period platinum hallmarks, and specific gemstone setting techniques typical of the early 20th century.

An antique brooch can be displayed mounted on a fabric cushion inside a glass shadow box frame placed on a dressing table or shelf.

Clean platinum and gemstone jewellery using warm water, mild detergent, and a soft brush, avoiding harsh chemical cleaners or ultrasonic baths for treated gemstones.
