Signed and dated 'Mar 7 1816 H.Hopper London'. Hopper trained as a stone mason and in 1801 at the age of 36, enrolled in the Royal Academy to study sculpture winning a silver medal in 1802. He produced tasteful decorative plaster work including classical nymphs and vestals. English, circa 1816.
