Moser glass was founded by Ludwig Moser in Bohemia during the mid-19th century, renowned for high-quality craftsmanship, vibrant coloured glass, and intricate enamel and gilt decorations that became extremely popular for luxury dressing table accessories during the Victorian era.

These items typically combine lead-free or potash-lime glass bodies with hallmarked sterling silver mounts and lids, often embellished with hand-painted vitreous enamels, gilding, and intricate chased or engraved metalwork by skilled artisans.

Authenticity is usually verified through clear British hallmarks on the silver mounts indicating the assay office, year letter, and makers mark, alongside characteristic weight, hand-finished glass imperfections, and period-appropriate decorative motifs.

An antique glass container can be displayed upon a mirrored dressing tray, a wooden bedside table, or within an open shelving unit to introduce historical colour, texture, and refined craftsmanship to a contemporary space.

Maintain these pieces by dusting gently with a soft microfibre cloth, avoiding harsh chemical cleaners that can damage gilding or enamel, and keeping silver mounts clean using a specialised non-abrasive polish applied sparingly away from the glass.
