We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

Burr walnut veneer gained immense popularity during the late 17th century and the Victorian era due to its distinctive, highly figured grain patterns derived from tree growths, making it a status symbol in fine cabinetry.

These pieces typically feature solid oak or pine secondary woods with fine walnut veneers applied to the exterior surfaces, complemented by hand-cut dovetail joints in the drawers and cast brass hardware.

Authenticity is identified by inspecting the construction for hand-cut dovetails, older secondary woods, natural ageing of the shellac polish, and the irregularity of the veneer grain pattern.

Pair the rich wood tones with minimalist seating, modern lighting, and neutral surroundings to create a sophisticated focal point that balances traditional craftsmanship with contemporary aesthetics.

Maintain antique wood by keeping it away from direct sunlight and heat sources, dusting regularly with a soft, dry cloth, and occasionally applying traditional beeswax to nourish the finish.
