Strictly Vetted Dealers

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

FAQs

Art Deco lighting originated in France during the 1920s and 1930s, characterised by sleek geometric forms, stylised motifs, and a harmonious blend of industrial metals and delicate glass.

Traditional construction typically involved chrome-plated or nickel-plated brass bases paired with acid-etched, frosted, or mould-blown glass shades produced by master glasshouses.

Authentic pieces often feature period-appropriate wiring, maker signatures or foundry marks on the glass or metalwork, and genuine material patina consistent with early-to-mid 20th-century manufacturing methods.

An Art Deco lamp works effectively as a statement accent piece on a sideboard, desk, or bedside table, contrasting cleanly against both minimalist modern spaces and eclectic maximalist schemes.

Dust metal components with a dry microfiber cloth and clean glass shades gently using a mild soapy solution, avoiding harsh chemical polishes that can strip the original metal plating.
