An exquisite pair of vintage earrings by the celebrated British jeweller Andrew Grima, dating from the 1960s.
Superbly handcrafted in 18ct yellow gold, these exceptional earrings feature softly glowing rose quartz cabochons, each cut with a distinctive honeycomb texture that reflects light beautifully. The stones are set within collet-style galbé brushed gold frames, epitomising Grima’s signature sculptural style — organic, bold, and effortlessly elegant.
Designed for pierced ears with both post and clip fittings, they offer security and comfort while sitting beautifully on the ear.
Signed GRIMA and hallmarked 750 for 18ct gold, these substantial earrings are presented in their original Grima box, making them a highly desirable collector’s piece.

Investment & Collectability:
Andrew Grima’s work is increasingly recognised as museum-level British design, and his jewellery continues to rise in value among discerning collectors.
These earrings are not merely jewels, but wearable sculptures, perfectly representing the innovation and craftsmanship that earned Grima the title of “the doyen of modern jewellery design.”
To acquire a signed 1960s pair in original condition and box is a rare opportunity — a superb investment in design history.
About Andrew Grima:
Born in Rome in 1921 to Maltese and Italian parents, Andrew Grima rose to prominence as one of Britain’s most important post-war jewellers. Entirely self-taught, his designs broke away from traditional forms, embracing texture, geometry, and natural gemstones in abstract, modernist compositions.
Grima’s work captured the imagination of the era’s elite — HRH The Queen, Princess Margaret, Jackie Kennedy Onassis, and The Beatles among his clientele. His pieces won numerous accolades, including the Duke of Edinburgh Prize for Elegant Design and the Queen’s Award to Industry.
Today, the Grima legacy continues under the stewardship of his wife JoJo and daughter Francesca, with only a handful of new pieces created each year by master goldsmiths.
