We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

Edwardian furniture, produced during the reign of King Edward VII from 1901 to 1910, often lighter in scale than Victorian pieces, frequently draws inspiration from earlier 18th-century Sheraton and Chippendale revivals, featuring refined proportions and delicate inlay.

Edwardian bookcases were predominantly crafted from dense hardwoods like mahogany, satinwood, and walnut, often featuring hand-selected veneers, brass hardware, and glass-paned doors with intricate wooden astragals.

Authentic pieces typically exhibit period-appropriate construction methods such as hand-cut dovetail joints on drawers, traditional wood screw fixings, aged glass with minor imperfections, and genuine patina on the timber surfaces.

An antique bookcase can ground a contemporary room by adding warmth and texture; balance the visual weight by curating shelves with a mix of vertical books, framed art, and minimalist ceramic objects rather than overcrowding the space.

Maintain mahogany furniture by keeping it away from direct sunlight and heat sources to prevent the wood from warping or fading, and clean it periodically using a soft, dry cloth without applying harsh chemical polishes.
