Antique Silver Shell Dish Hallmarked London 1920

Description

A charming antique solid silver dish in the form of a scallop shell sitting on 3 ball feet. Clear hallmarks are visible for the London Assay office with a date mark for 1920 and Lion Passant indicating sterling silver. The maker's mark is also clearly visible for the silver maker Josiah Williams & Co. Originally a butter dish, this could now be used as a trinket or bon bon dish and would be a lovely silver wedding anniversary gift.

 

Condition: In great antique condition with only some light scratching.

 

Hallmarks: London 1920 Josiah Williams & Co.

 

Measurements:

Height: 2.5 cm Width: 10.3 cm Depth: (from handle to tip of shell): 12.7 cm approx. Weight: 60 grams
