Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Queen Anne style furniture is defined by gentle curves, figured burr wood veneers, bracket or cabriole feet, and understated elegance without excessive carving. Burr walnut was particularly favored for its rich grain patterns and warm tones.

These bookcases were typically constructed with solid wood carcasses, such as pine or oak, overlaid with highly figured burr walnut veneers. Glazed doors utilised individually fitted hand-blown glass panes held in place by wooden glazing bars.

Authentic period pieces show evidence of hand-crafted joinery, such as uneven dovetail joints, hand-sawn backboards, and natural movement or shrinkage in the timber over time. Original glass may also exhibit small air bubbles, distortion, or waves.

Positioning a warm wood cabinet against a neutral or deep dark wall creates a striking focal point. Displaying modern ceramics, curated glassware, or art books alongside traditional items helps bridge the gap between antique and modern aesthetics.

Keep the timber away from direct sunlight and radiators to prevent drying or fading. Dust regularly with a soft dry cloth and apply beeswax sparingly along the grain; clean glass doors with a dedicated cleaner applied to a cloth rather than sprayed directly.
