Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Mid-century cocktail rings gained popularity in the mid-20th century, characterised by large central gemstones and structural metalwork. Aquamarine became a favored stone during the 1950s and 1960s due to its clarity and light blue colouration.

Rings from this era typically feature natural beryl aquamarine cut in rectangular emerald cuts or oval shapes. The mountings are commonly forged in yellow gold or platinum, using multi-claw settings and split shoulders to support large carat weights.

Authentic pieces display period-accurate metal hallmarks indicating gold purity, precise hand-cut step faceting on the gemstone, and hand-finished claw settings. Mid-century rings also feature distinctive band constructions, such as split or double shanks.

A large solitaire ring functions as a standalone focal piece worn on the index or ring finger. Pairing light blue gemstones with neutral tailoring or minimalist contemporary attire allows the gemstone colour and architectural mount to stand out.

Clean the stone using warm water, mild detergent, and a soft brush to remove dust from underneath the basket setting. Store the ring separately from harder gemstones like diamonds to prevent surface scratches, and inspect claw settings regularly.
