Strictly Vetted Dealers

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Sustainable Choice

Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

This pair of French Art Deco mood lamps from 1930 comprises rectangular veined black marble bases, bronze leaping gazelle sculptures, and spherical frosted glass shades. The off-white glass globes display gold detailing and raised floral etched patterns, paired with a black cord lead. The bases support the animal figures positioned to one side and the illuminated globes to the other. Each lamp measures 13 cm high, 24.2 cm wide, and 8 cm deep. These table lamps suit placement on a sideboard top within an interior setting. They provide accent lighting while serving as decorative objects on a flat surface in a living room, dining room, or hallway.

FAQs

French Art Deco lighting from the 1920s and 1930s emphasizes geometric symmetry, stylized animal motifs, and rich material combinations such as cast metal, marble bases, and etched or frosted glass globes.

These lamps typically feature bases crafted from Belgian black marble, onyx, or portoro marble, paired with dark patinated spelter or bronze animal sculptures and acid-etched glass shades.

Authentic period pieces show natural wear to metal patination, minor veining or flea bites along marble plinths, period switches, and molded or acid-etched signatures on glass globe shades.

Positioning a symmetrical pair at opposite ends of a credenza, sideboard, or mantelpiece creates balanced accent lighting and brings geometric visual interest to contemporary rooms.

Dust surfaces regularly with a soft dry microfibre cloth. Avoid harsh liquid cleaners or abrasives on patinated metal figures and clean glass globes separately using a mild soapy water solution.
