Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Kiddush cups are ceremonial vessels used in Jewish traditions to recite blessings over wine during Sabbath and festival meals. During the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, Russian silversmiths produced distinctive silver Judaica marked by precise engraving and specific silver purity standards.

Russian silver from the late Imperial period was typically assayed using the zolotnik system, where 84 zolotniks corresponds to 875/1000 silver purity (87.5% pure silver), which provided an ideal balance of durability and lustre for engraved tableware.

Authentic pieces generally feature stamped assay marks containing the numerical silver purity rating, such as 84 or 875, alongside maker marks and sometimes regional assay office symbols or Kokoshnik profile stamps.

These ceremonial goblets can be arranged as a collective grouping atop a dining room sideboard, displayed inside a glass-fronted cabinet, or used as central decorative accents on a formal dining table setting.

Silver should be gently polished using a soft, non-abrasive cotton cloth and specialised silver cream to remove oxidisation without wearing down delicate surface engravings. Storing silver in low-humidity environments or anti-tarnish felt covers helps slow down natural tarnishing.
