Strictly Vetted Dealers

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Sustainable Choice

FAQs

Georgian silver coasters from this era typically feature classical proportions, fine craftsmanship, and decorative rims such as gadrooning or reeding, reflecting the aesthetic tastes of the Regency period.

These items were predominantly constructed using sterling silver for the pierced or solid frames, paired with turned wood basesoften mahogany or oakfitted with a central silver button.

Authenticity is verified by checking for clear British hallmarks, including the makers mark, the lion passant for sterling silver, the leopards head for London assay, and the date letter corresponding to the specific year.

They can be repurposed on a bar cart or coffee table to hold small decorative objects, or used in their traditional capacity to protect dining surfaces during formal entertaining.

Clean the silver elements sparingly using a specialised, non-abrasive silver polish, and wipe the wooden bases with a dry, soft cloth, avoiding excessive moisture to prevent warping.
