Description

A wonderful early antique Heriz carpet woven around circa 1880 with the best early green dyes and and pale blue natural colours.  The pale blue, green tone corners are faded and a palette of warm terracotta brick tones and deep blue almost black border.  In exceptional condition with a medium wool pile height all over, these carpets are known for being incredibly tough.  One of the best designs and well spaced out drawing, the border motif is exquisite, large leaves and golden flowers.  The central medallion is beautiful too, one of the best we have had.

Farnham Antique Carpets are specialists in antique decorative carpets, rugs and runners. Varying from antique tribal rugs woven in the Caucasus to classical Persian carpets dating from the mid 19th century to the early 20th century.
