Antique Victorian Sterling Silver Wine Ewer - 1873

Description

A superb antique Victorian sterling silver wine ewer which has a tall elaborate body depicting garlands of flowers, leaves, bows and swags with a vacant cartouche in the centre. The shape is elegant and the condition is excellent. This silver wine ewer would make a statement when displayed on the table and would be perfect to use. The interior has been nicely gilded and it would hold 1.8 litres of wine.

Height (to top of handle): 38 cms (15")

Diameter of body: 12.5 cms (4.9")

Weight: 31.9 troy ounces (992 grams)

It was hallmarked in London for 1873 by Stephen Smith.
