FAQs

Corinthian column lamps draw inspiration from classical Greek and Roman architecture, becoming particularly popular during the Neoclassical revival periods of the 19th and early 20th centuries.

Authentic period pieces are typically cast from solid brass or bronze, often featuring detailed acanthus leaf capitals, fluted shafts, and weighted stepped bases for stability.

Authentication involves examining the casting quality, the patina and oxidisation of the metal, the threading of components, and the type of wiring or lampholder used.

These lamps provide a sophisticated focal point on sideboards, desks, or mantelpieces, bridging traditional and modern aesthetics when paired with a simple linen or silk shade.

Maintenance requires dusting with a soft, dry cloth and avoiding harsh chemical metal polishes that can strip the natural aged patina accumulated over decades.
