Victorian Antique Silver And Ram’s Horn Inkwell, Edinburgh 1893

A very unusual and rare Victorian antique silver inkwell, fashioned as a snuff mull. Made in Aberdeen by James Rettie and hallmarked in the Edinburgh Assay Office in 1893. It has a full set of hallmarks inside the gilded lid along with a removable glass ink pot. There is a vacant cartouch on the front and a quartz stone on the top. The lid is profusely cast with thistles and leaves. The horn is mounted on a round wooden stand. It''s extremely collectable and in excellent undamaged condition.
