Antique Essex Crystal and 14ct Yellow Gold Brooch Circa 1915

A stunning, fine and impressive, Essex crystal and 14 carat yellow gold floral brooch; part of our antique jewellery and estate jewelry collections.

This stunning antique brooch has been crafted in 14ct yellow gold.

The impressive oval brooch is ornamented to the centre with an exceptional collet set rock crystal panel, displaying a stunning bowl/vase design bearing a floral arrangement*.

The reverse is embellished with the contemporary engraved inscription 'Four Erinnerung an Deine Matura 1925'; whilst a full translation cannot be provided, it can be determined this engraving represents a graduation celebration.

This brooch secures to the reverse with a conventional hinged pin and clasp.

This antique rock crystal brooch is hallmarked to the reverse with the maker's mark and the gold mark (a, fox head, 4)**; the brooch has been independently tested using state of the art technology (Niton XL2 Analyzer) and verified as 14 carat gold.

This antique Essex crystal floral brooch is a meaningful gift for birthdays, Mother's Day, or special occasions. A distinctive and wearable keepsake, it combines sentiment with timeless elegance.

NOTE: * With the natures of the floral colours and splayed petal shape, it has been determined these flowers replicate the features of a violet; however, there are other variants which may be applicable.

** This Austro-Hungarian hallmark pertains to 580 standard gold and denotes the piece was assayed in Vienna, Austria. This variation of hallmark was used between 1872-1922, determining the date as circa 1915.
