A silver plated sweetmeat or bon-bon dish designed by Dr Christopher Dresser (1834-1904) and made by Roberts and Belk. Of double basket form, with curled in edges and woven rush-work handle, model number 2700.
 
Model No 2700 was produced for Roberts and Belk by Dr Dresser when working as a freelance designer during the 1880s. This design was also produced by Hukin and Heath. Indeed, a similar example, also in silver plate, and produced by Hukin and Heath can be found in the Victoria and Albert Museum collection number M.14-1970.
 
Fully marked to the base. Approx. height 15cms.
 
Good antique condition. The plate to the outside of the bowls is excellent, as is the rush-work handle. There is some wear to the plate and spotting inside the bowls - see final two photos.
