Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

The Hundred Antiques motif originated during the Kangxi period in China and features stylized depictions of traditional scholar objects, vases, scrolls, and ritual symbols. English porcelain manufacturers, such as the Worcester factory, adapted these motifs during the Georgian era to meet the high demand for Chinoiserie design in Europe.

First Period Worcester ceramics were made using a soft-paste porcelain body containing soapstone, which produced a durable piece resistant to thermal shock. The decoration was rendered using cobalt oxide applied under a clear lead glaze before firing.

Authentic pieces from this period typically exhibit a greenish or greyish tint when held to light due to the soaprock content. Markings on the base may include painters marks, fretted squares, or crescent marks applied in underglaze blue, alongside evidence of hand potting such as slight irregularities in the scalloped rim.

A blue and white porcelain plate can be displayed upright on a plate stand atop a sideboard, framed in a shadow box, or grouped on a feature wall alongside complementary ceramics to add textural and historical interest to modern spaces.

Clean soft-paste porcelain by hand using warm water and a mild liquid detergent with a non-abrasive sponge. Avoid chemical cleaners, mechanical dishwashers, and sudden temperature shifts, which can compromise the integrity of the glaze and body.
