This is unusual. A terracotta boot, topped with a solid sterling silver rim, finely detailed as a pin cushion.The rim is hallmarked with the maker''s mark of William Henry Sparrow. The date letter is somewhat worn, it looks to be either 1904 or 1906, but as this maker''s mark was only registered for the period 1907 - 1923, it must be slightly later than it looks.The detailing on the boot is fantastic. The silver rim is free from damage, although a little tarnished in places. The cushion has a some point been replaced but is a good match.
