Art Deco Oriental Carved Camphor Wood Chest

This Beautiful Carved Chest is made from Camphor Wood, for those of you who do not know camphor wood it is a hard wood which lends itself very well to carving.

However the main reason for using camphor wood is its fragrance, it smells a bit like Eucalyptus and this most attractive of smells repels moths hence its common use in the best quality Blanket Boxes

The chest has a classic Odeon shape at the top corners with carvings of people and animals, the chest is carved on both the top, the front and the corners, the handles are inset carved, it stands on bracket style feet and has a large brass clasp on the front, the interior is clean

The Chest is 41” long x 23” high and 22” deep
