Description

This is a truly fabulous and very rare silver mounted Stevens & Williams Pompeiian Swirl Glass scent bottle. The vivid yellow and white satin glass bulbous body with a long and slender neck. The collar fitted with a fully hallmarked silver band with chain attachment. The hallmarked pull-off silver lid with fine silver chain joined to the band.The silver collar mount is by Saunders & Shepherd who very often teamed with illustrious glass and porcelain manufacturers to produce exquisite scent bottles.

Hallmarks:

CS*FS for Cornelius Desormeaux Saunders & James Francis Hollings Shepherd.

Birmingham Assay Mark.

Lion Passant.

Date letter "n" for 1887.

Dimensions:

Height: 11cm / 4.3 inches.

Diameter 6.5cm / 2.2 inches.

Condition:

Very good.

No dings or dents, no holes to the lid.

Glass in perfect condition.

Silver neck with minor wear at the top, commensurate with age and use.
