Description

Absolutely gorgeous pair of no end beds have fabulous shaping to them, with lovely flowing curves and delightfully robust castings, particularly on the top corners. Very nice shaping in the iron reed strip, connected by nicely shaped castings in good detail. A truly lovely pair of unique beds.

These beds can be joined to make an occasional super king-sized bed, perfect for guest or spare rooms.

Whole frame shot blasted and primed prior to hand pant finish designed to pay homage to the shabby-chic style of many antique American beds. Comprised of Little Greene’s Spanish Brown colour peeking through Clay Deep. Waxed and buffed well to protect and shine.

Head Height 130.5cm

Foot Height 38.5cm

Side Rail Height 38.5cm

Overall Width 94cm

Suitable for standard single mattresses 3’ x 6’3” / 90cm x 190cm. We can supply mattresses with a zip to link them together for when joining the beds.

Strictly Vetted Dealers

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Sustainable Choice

Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

FAQs

Convertible single beds gained popularity in the late 19th and early 20th centuries as versatile furniture solutions for guest rooms and shared spaces, often designed to function individually or lock together.

These frames were typically constructed using cast iron, tubular steel, or wrought metal components, often finished with painted enamel coatings or brass accents.

Authenticity is usually determined by hand-poured iron joints, historic bolt fixings, authentic patination on the painted surfaces, and period-specific casting marks on the frame.

Pairing the metallic frame with neutral textiles, layered linen bedding, and minimalist modern decor helps balance the historic aesthetic within a contemporary bedroom scheme.

Maintain the finish by dusting with a dry microfibre cloth, avoiding harsh chemical cleaners that can damage the original painted coating, and periodically checking structural joints.
