A stunning matching pair of 19th-century Victorian single beds, each crafted from iron and finished in an elegant black with polished brass accents. Measuring 3ft wide, these beds feature beautifully detailed castings, brass straight top rails and spherical knobs that showcase the period’s classic craftsmanship. The combination of black iron and gleaming brass creates a timeless, sophisticated look, making them perfect for a traditional bedroom, guest room, or stylish boutique hotel. Fully restored and ready for use with modern single mattresses, these beds blend antique charm with everyday practicality.

These beds accept standard UK single size 3'0" wide by 6'3" long bases and mattresses. There is an option to lengthen the beds so they accept 6'6", which are preferable for adults. It is possible to join these two beds to form a 6'0 wide (UK Super King) bed, and provide mattresses that zip together.

You will need bed bases to support the mattress. Bed bases sit on the bedstead frame and can be either Firm or Sprung and come in different depths with a choice of covers.

Victorian cast iron beds emerged in the mid-nineteenth century as a hygienic and durable alternative to wooden bedsteads. They typically feature tubular iron or solid iron frames adorned with vertical spindles, decorative cast joints, and brass accents such as top rails, finials, or central motifs.

These bedsteads were constructed using wrought iron tubing or solid cast iron rods fitted into heavy corner castings. The frame components were joined using drop-in side rails with cast iron dovetail joints, often topped with decorative brass finials, caps, and brass top bars.
