Beautiful Victorian king size half tester bed with good detail in the decorative castings. Brass top rails and side wings, central ring in foot, and brass knees, husks, feet, knobs and collars on posts. Original black porcelain castors. The bed has it’s original canopy rails and side supports, both of which can be removed if preferred aesthetically, the side supports are not structurally integral.
This lovely bed has been checked for well-fitting joints and rails have been adapted to support wood slats and a standard king size mattress 150cm x 200cm/ 5'' x 6''6''.
The bed has been professionally restored with the frame shot blasted and hand finished in Little Green paint company Hammock, with Basalt over and distressed back in places. The bed has been waxed to protect and preserve the paint finish, With the brass having had a light clean to bring out it’s natural patina.
This really is a lovely example of a classic Victorian half tester bed.
