Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

During the George V period, dressing table accessories crafted from silver and guilloche enamel were popular luxury items designed for private dressing rooms and vanity tables. These objects reflected early 20th-century refinement, incorporating precise mechanical engine-turning covered with translucent vitreous enamel.

These jars typically combine sterling silver mountings with guilloche vitreous enamel lids set atop heavy cut or blown glass containers. The enamel is formed by fusing powdered glass to the silver surface at high temperatures over intricate geometric patterns.

Authentic British silver enamel pieces display official silver hallmarks stamped on the mount or lid rim, indicating the maker, purity, assay office, and date letter. Additionally, genuine guilloche enamel features true engine-turned geometric engraving underneath translucent glass enamel rather than painted patterns.

These small vessels are commonly placed on a mirrored tray atop a bedroom dressing table, bedside table, or bathroom counter. They serve as functional containers for small items such as jewellery or as refined decorative accents alongside vintage perfumes.

Clean the silver mounts gently using a soft polishing cloth, taking care not to submerge enamel sections in water or apply harsh chemical polishes. Enamel can chip under impact, so items should be handled gently and kept away from direct heat.
