FAQs

Corinthian column lighting draws inspiration from classical Greek and Roman architecture, experiencing a revival during the Victorian and Edwardian periods when classical motifs were adapted for domestic interiors.

These pieces are typically constructed using sterling silver, silverplate over copper or brass bases, and weighted interiors to provide stability.

Authenticity is assessed by examining hallmarks, the weight and construction of the metal, patination, and the method of assembly, which often includes threaded rods and period wiring components.

They serve as sophisticated accent pieces on sideboards or console tables, contrasting effectively against minimalist backgrounds or adding vertical symmetry to a room.

Silver surfaces should be maintained with a specialised non-abrasive silver polish and a soft cloth, avoiding contact with electrical components to prevent damage.
