Antique Ersari Kizil Ayak Turkmen Main Carpet With 'tauk Nuska' Guls, Circa 1870.

Antique Kizyl Ayak Ersari Turkmen main carpet with the ‘tauk nuska’ ’ gul design; each segment of the gul contains two double headed birds or horned animal.
 
Circa 1870.
 
The carpet has a soft madder red / brown ground colour with some very nice shades of blue and soft yellow in the guls. The boarder is a very well drawn example of the classic Kizil Ayak bird design, note how the border at the ends is different to the sides.
 
The carpet is in very good condition with even wear and medium pile.
 
The carpet is suitable for light domestic use.
 
The carpet has been hand washed and is ready for use.
