Miles Griffiths Antiques Ltd has dated this piece to the 1930s.
Amazing furniture, made in the anthroposophic style that was developed by Rudolf Steiner. Steiner designed amongst other things, school furniture and toys to be used within the schools. No hard lines here, only organic, natural shapes with an adzed finish. This Steiner School oak open bookcase is in superb condition, in the original finish and with a lovely adzed finish to the surfaces. This very rare anthroposophic oak furniture was used in the Headteachers room within the Steiner School. Just amazing design, super quality and in excellent condition. The bookcase has to come apart for movement, the central section is on one, whilst the two sides come apart, would need a joiner to put back together in situ, an easy job if you now how. This rare Steiner oak bookcase provides a huge amount for storage over various oak shelves, the middle ones are 28cm deep whilst the side shelves are 25cm deep.
