Rare 1930’S Rudolf Steiner School Huge Oak Open Bookcase

1920 - 1940
Description

Rare 1930’s Rudolf Steiner School Huge Oak Open Bookcase

A very rare Steiner school large scale oak open bookcase with full provenance known, made for a English Steiner School in 1930. Amazing furniture, made in the anthroposophic style that was developed by Rudolf Steiner. Steiner designed amongst other things, school furniture and toys to be used within the schools. No hard lines here, only organic, natural shapes with an adzed finish. This Steiner School oak open bookcase is in superb condition, in the original finish and with a lovely adzed finish to the surfaces. This very rare anthroposophic oak furniture was used in the Headteachers room within the Steiner School. Just amazing design, super quality and in excellent condition. The bookcase has to come apart for movement, the central section is on one, whilst the two sides come apart, would need a joiner to put back together in situ, an easy job if you now how. This rare Steiner oak bookcase provides a huge amount for storage over various oak shelves, the middle ones are 28cm deep whilst the side shelves are 25cm deep.

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.
