Rare Sterling Silver Monstrance Pyx Host Wafer Box 1902 Religious Altar Antique

1900 - 1920
Description

A superb very unusual antique sterling silver and silver plate altar monstrance, for displaying the host. The outer stand is silver plate the inner host holder is sterling silver and hallmarked for Birmingham 1902 with the makers marks being Hayes and Finch of London, a well known ecclesiastical maker. It has been beautifully designed being gilded inside with the inner section having a bevelled glass front and is in super condition being free from dings splits holes and repairs, the odd tiny mark of course. The silver plate is original showing no wear. It measures approx. 5 inches (13cms) tall by 4 inches wide and weighs 416 grams, including the silver plate and glass. A very high quality piece.

Declaration

The Silver Squirrel has dated this piece to the Edwardian era.
