Heavy 176g English Solid Sterling Silver Cigarette Case 1967 Westminster Bank

1940 - 1960
Description

A superb quality solid sterling silver cigarette case. It is hallmarked for Birmingham 1967 with the maker being Mappin & Webb Ltd. It has been beautifully designed and is sprung so it flips open when the button is depressed. It has been engraved to the inside 'To Harry wishing him long life, good health and happiness on his Retirement 9th September 1966 from all his friends in the Staff Department Westminster Bank',(I don't know why it was presented after his retirement). It is in superb condition being free from dings splits and repairs. It measures approx. 4.5 inches (11.6cm) long by over 3.25 inches (8.5cm) wide and weighs 176 grams. A super quality interesting example.
