Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

The George V era, spanning from 1910 to 1936, often reflected a continuation of traditional styles such as Edwardian elegance alongside the early adoption of cleaner, more geometric art deco influences in dining and household silverware.

These items are typically crafted from sterling silver, manufactured via stamping or forging, and often housed in fitted presentation cases lined with silk satin and velvet to protect the polished metal.

Authenticity is verified through British hallmarks stamped directly onto the metal, which include a makers mark, the standard mark for sterling silver, a town assay office mark, and a date letter corresponding to the specific year of testing.

They can be displayed within a glass-fronted cabinet, incorporated into a curated tablescape for formal dinner parties, or presented as a sophisticated decorative accent within a traditional dining room setting.

Antique silver should be cleaned sparingly using a specialized non-abrasive silver polish and a soft cloth, then stored in a tarnish-resistant cloth or a controlled environment away from high humidity and direct sunlight.
