Huge 98g English Antique Sterling Silver Coronation Anointing Baptism Spoon 1902

Description

A superb large English Edwardian antique solid sterling silver gilt baptism spoon. It is hallmarked for London 1902 with the maker being Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Co Ltd. It has been superbly designed in the form of a Medieval coronation / anointing spoon used to anoint a King or Queen. It is in superb condition being free from dings splits and repairs. Slight wear to the gilding. It measures approx. 10 inches (25cm) long by 2 inches (5.2cm) wide and weighs 98 grams. A very nice quality piece.

The Silver Squirrel has dated this piece to the Edwardian era.
