A superb antique solid silver ''Little Miss Muffett'' nursery spoon. The spoon bowl decoration is beautifully detailed showing the spider and spider''s web and the words ''Little Miss Muffett'' below her character at the bottom. The looped handle is also nicely decorated.
The back of the spoon bears clear hallmarks for the Birmingham Assay Office, date mark for 1920 and Lion Passant indicating the finest sterling silver, with the maker''s mark for renowned silversmiths: Levi & Salaman.
A wonderful item very suitable for a child''s gift!
Condition: The spoon is in great condition though there are some fine scratches on the reverse of the bowl commensurate with age.
