FAQs

Toast racks emerged in England during the 18th century as specialized dining table accessories designed to keep slices of hot toast crisp by allowing air circulation between them, preventing condensation.

Traditional toast racks are crafted from solid sterling silver or silver plate, utilizing soldered wirework, stamped arched dividers, and elevated feet to form a stable structural frame.

Authenticity is determined by inspecting the metal for official hallmarks indicating the assay office, metal purity, and makers mark, alongside assessing traditional construction methods and natural patina.

This piece can be utilized as a functional breakfast table accessory or displayed on a sideboard as a reflective metal accent object to add metallic texture to a dining room.

Preserve sterling silver by washing it in warm water with mild soap, drying it thoroughly with a soft cloth, and polishing periodically with specialized silver cream to prevent excessive tarnish.
