This is a stunning antique Victorian sterling silver christening mug/tankard measuring 4'' (10 cms) tall x 3 1/4'' (8 cms) across the top and in it''s original presentation case.
It''s hallmarked for London 1868 with the silversmiths mark for John, Edward, Walter & John Barnard (Barnard & Sons) and also shows the retailers mark around the base of the jug as Elkingtons of Liverpool.
The mug is decorated around the body with birds and is gilded inside.
The whole item is in excellent condition (any marks you can see are just reflections).
There are no initials or monograms and it weighs 198.6 grams / 6.3 troy oz.
