Description

A beautiful rare French solid sterling silver holy communion wine or water jug. It is hallmarked with the French 950 standard Minera head mark and a makers mark J&C. I would date it to c1880. It has been beautifully designed and is in superb condition being free from dings splits distortions and repairs, it may have had a stopper? It measures approx. 4.75 inches (12cm) tall to the top of the handle by 3.5 inches (8.8cm) across handle to lip by 2.25 inches (5.6cm) across the base and weighs 100 grams. A very good quality well made rare piece.
