Flemish School Oil On Panel Tavern Scene

Status: This item has been sold
Sold by: In A Nutshell Antiques and Interiors

A good quality and very decorative oil painting on board depicting an old man in a tavern with his tankard of ale and pipe. It is typical of a Flemish style painting although the origin is unknown and it is not signed. It likely dates from the late 19th / early 20th century and is framed in a good quality gilded frame.

There are some minor signs of age and some light surface marks but no damages. There are some minor losses and small knocks around the frame but the gilding is bright and vibrant. The painting has been lightly cleaned and is ready to hang.
