Items which are presented in frames are usually the old original frames which came with the artwork. We would typically only remove the frames if they were severely broken or damaged. In line with our conservation ethos, we believe that a painting should be sold within its original setting rather than re-presenting in a contemporary mount & frame unless necessary. Customers also prefer to choose their own way of presenting their painting or engraving. Frames therefore WILL have wear, discolouration or damage in line with their age.

When we value and sell artwork, we provide the frame free. We do not accept liability for damage caused to frame in transit. We are more than happy to remove frames before posting at the customer’s request.

Condition: The painting displays mild age-related surface dirt, varnish discolouration and scattered raised spots or small areas of surface disturbance. The frame has rubbing, cracking, old repairs and areas of ornament loss. The reverse has old tape residue and later hanging fittings. Please study all photographs carefully, as they form an important part of the condition description.

*In the unlikely event that you are not happy with your purchase, for any reason, we will always accept returns and offer a no quibble refund if notified within 14 days of receiving the item and returned to us in the same condition. The buyer is however, liable for the return postal charges.
