A Boxed Art Deco George Jensen Silver Preserve Spoon

1920 - 1940
Description

A superb silver long handled spoon by the great Georg Jensen, presented her in the original box. This fabulous example is fully cast with a gently planished bowl and terminal. The top front of the shank bears stylized fruit and bud motifs, with pierced fretwork. Probably a commission piece due to it's non mainstream pattern, this superb piece is of good gauge silver and would serve well as a preserve spoon. Georg Jensen is one of the great names in early 20th Century silver - specializing in Arts and Crafts/Art Deco design. Vintage examples of his work are widely pursued and this wonderful collector's piece is both practical and decorative. Dimensions below.
