Huge Antique Pine Blanket Box

1900 - 1920
Description

A particularly large pine blanket box dating from the early 20th Century. It is has metal carrying handles on the sides and it sits on a plinth base. It is a good quality piece with its original handles, handmade dovetail joints and the pine has mellowed to a lovely warm colour.

The perfect size for a coffee table or end of bed storage.

It is in good condition for its age. It is strong and sturdy and generally clean and tidy inside. There are signs of age and use, some general knocks and surface marks but nothing detrimental and it has developed a great patina. The box has been cleaned and gently polished and is ready for use.
